First EU multi-actor working group workshop

23 May 2024 – 10.30 am – 1 pm (CET) – Online

BEATLES EU multi-actor working group is a pan-European group driving Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) initiatives, bridging science, society, and policy across Europe.

AEIDL (European Association for Innovation in Local Development) leads the work package on transition through policy recommendations and tools and coordinates this EU group. We look for those most interested or involved in the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), from the point of view of Climate-Smart Agriculture, to have a primarily online space where we can have informal and open-ended discussions and exchange ideas about possible avenues to reinforce CSA practices in EU agriculture

This first of a series of workshops is a key part of our BEATLES co-creation process so that the leading research and policy findings we are producing can be assessed by experts and policy practitioners from outside the BEATLES project. This will help us consider how our results can be extrapolated to the EU level and whether they may be turned into actionable policy recommendations.Aside from exploring project insights and recent outcomes, our agenda features captivating presentations from key voices including DG AGRI’s policy perspectives unit, the Joint Research Center, and the EIP-AGRI.

See agenda, here.

1. Presenting BEATLES project, Dr. Marilena Gemtou (University of Athens) |

2. EU policy perspectives for agriculture, Gijs Schilthuis (DG AGRI) |

3. Policy insights from BEATLES, Blanca Casares (AEIDL) |

4. Farm Practices classification for CAP interventions, Irene Guerrero (Joint Research Centre) |
